Bank of Commerce (BankCom) announced on Tuesday the resignation of independent director Rebecca Maria A. Ynares, effective June 30, 2025, as she prepares to assume public office.
Ynares stepped down from the board following her election as Representative of the 1st District of Rizal.
Under the country’s laws governing public officials, she is prohibited from engaging in private business or serving in a board capacity while holding public office.
BankCom said it will disclose Ynares’ replacement on the board of directors once a new member is duly elected.
Ynares, part of a prominent political family in Rizal province, served as director on the BankCom board during a period of growth and digital expansion for the bank.
