BDO Unibank Inc., the Sy family’s flagship lender and the country’s largest bank, has advised customers to use its digital platforms and over-the-counter branch services after its ATM network experienced intermittent service disruptions.
In an advisory, BDO said it was working to restore ATM services and urged customers to use alternative channels while the disruption persisted.
“BDO ATMs are currently experiencing intermittent service disruptions. In the meantime, clients may consider using alternative channels such as BDO Online, BDO Pay, or over-the-counter branch transactions,” the bank said.
The disruption prompted complaints on social media, with some customers saying they were also unable to withdraw cash from ATMs of other banks using their BDO cards.
As of press time, BDO said it was “already working to restore” its ATM network.
The bank also waived over-the-counter transaction fees while ATM services remained unavailable and advised customers to visit the nearest BDO branch for transactions that could not be completed through its digital channels.
