Asialink Finance Corp. has secured a P500-million sustainability-linked social facility from Cathay United Bank to expand its lending to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in rural and underserved communities.
The company said the funding will be used to widen access to credit for unbanked Filipinos, women-owned businesses, and small enterprises, as it seeks to deepen financial inclusion and support job creation in local economies.
The facility is structured around social performance targets, linking borrowing costs to measurable lending outcomes, Asialink said.
“Asialink is helping close that gap by delivering responsive financing where it is needed most,” the company said, adding that the initiative ensures lending growth is tied to progress in financial inclusion and responsible financing.
The lender said the facility supports its broader strategy to strengthen its presence in underserved markets, where many borrowers continue to rely on informal sources of funding.
It added that the partnership reinforces its push to expand access to responsible financing solutions across the Philippines.
