Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) leaders reaffirms support to regional cooperation

The regional leaders committed to support the growth of the region.

The 29th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting convened in Thailand on 18-19 November 2022 to further foster economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.

The 21 APEC member economies issued the 2022 Leaders’ Declaration, reaffirming the members’ commitment to attain a more unified and prosperous Asia-Pacific community through various initiatives.

These include, among others, (i) implementing the APEC Putrajaya Vision 2040 through the Aotearoa Plan of Action;10(ii) strengthening the rules-based multilateral trading system by advancing the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP) agenda;11(iii) accelerating the implementation of the APEC Internet and Digital Economy Roadmap (AIDER);12and (iv) adopting the Bangkok Goals on the Bio-Circular-Green(BCG) Economy.
