Alden Richards shows how BDO makes banking faster and safer

BDO Unibank Inc., the country’s largest bank by assets, is promoting its digital banking services through a new video campaign featuring actor Alden Richards, who demonstrates how the bank’s in-branch technology is designed to streamline customer transactions.

“When I hear BDO, unang pumapasok sa isip ko is safety. I feel safe because they’ve been here for 50 years, and I can confidently say BDO is the right partner for me,” Richards said.

In the video, Richards assists a stressed customer attempting to complete several tasks inside a BDO branch. He introduces tools such as the Universal Teller Machine, which allows over-the-counter transactions like check deposits and passbook updates without queuing. Clients can also use QR codes or biometrics for cardless transactions.

The Service Assist Machine, or SAM, enables customers to input transaction details and receive a queue number, minimizing time spent on manual forms.

Another tool, the Account Assist Kiosk, allows users to open accounts or apply for loans and credit cards with their biometric data or debit card and PIN. The forms are auto-filled for faster processing.

“It’s all about going digital na talaga ngayon. That’s exactly what BDO is doing — going digital to offer more convenience to its clients,” Richards said.

Despite the bank’s shift toward digital channels, BDO emphasized that branch staff and product specialists remain available for in-person and virtual consultations. In the video, Richards refers customers to BDO Connect, where they can inquire about loans, insurance, investments, and credit cards.

“I’ve been a BDO client for more than a decade already. And I appreciate kasi that BDO offers different options for me in the branch. Para hindi masayang ang pera ko. Meron talagang personal advice para lumago ang savings mo,” he added.

Richards also encouraged customers to schedule branch visits through www.bdo.com.ph/book-your-visit, and highlighted the option to open an account online at www.bdo.com.ph/apply, which requires only a valid ID and a brief video call.

The campaign forms part of BDO’s broader strategy to enhance banking accessibility while preserving customer support across physical branches nationwide.
