A new chapter: SB Capital rebrands as Security Bank Capital and Investment Corp.

SB Capital Investment Corp., the investment banking arm of the Dy family’s Security Bank Corp., announced its rebranding to Security Bank Capital and Investment Corp., effective November 12.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved the name change as part of the bank’s strategy to align the subsidiary more closely with its parent company’s “BetterBanking” brand.

The rebrand aims to strengthen Security Bank Capital’s corporate identity and enhance its position within the competitive investment banking sector.

Security Bank Capital will continue to offer a comprehensive range of services, including debt and equity capital markets, project finance, financial advisory, and stock brokerage services.

Virgilio Chua, president and CEO of Security Bank Capital, emphasized that the firm would maintain its high service standards while aligning its branding with the parent company. “We are excited about this development and remain dedicated to supporting our clients’ financial goals with renewed vigor,” Chua said.

Founded in October 1995, Security Bank Capital has been a key player in the Philippine investment banking industry. The firm has played a central role in significant capital-raising activities, including over P500 billion in debt capital and more than P100 billion in equity capital in 2021.

Security Bank Capital has forged strong relationships with both local and international financial institutions, establishing itself in major sectors such as energy, healthcare, real estate, and manufacturing.

Parent company, Security Bank Corp. also reported strong financial performance in the first nine months of 2024. Its net income rose 12% to P8.55 billion, driven by higher revenues. In the third quarter, net earnings increased by 14%, reaching P3 billion.

With 334 branches and 678 ATMs nationwide, Security Bank continues to expand its presence across the Philippines.
