GCash has partnered with United Arab Emirates-based fintech firm botim money to enable Filipinos in the Gulf nation to send remittances directly to digital wallets in the Philippines, expanding access to cross-border payment services.
The agreement allows UAE-based users to transfer funds through the botim money app to GCash wallets, where recipients can use the money to pay bills, make purchases, transfer funds to bank accounts or access savings and investment products.
The partnership targets a major remittance corridor serving nearly 700,000 Filipinos living in the UAE, as financial authorities in both countries work to strengthen cross-border payment links.
“Through our partnership with botim money, we are expanding how the Filipino community in the UAE can support families back home through a platform already integrated into everyday financial life,” said Jonathan Que, GCash general manager for international operations.
For botim money, the agreement supports its expansion of regulated remittance services across key markets, including the Philippines, India, Pakistan and Egypt.
Hesham Sherif, botim money’s head of remittance business, said the integration would connect UAE users directly to a financial network widely used by Filipino households.
Remittances from overseas workers remain an important source of foreign exchange for the Philippines and a key source of financial support for families.
