Security Bank Corp. is channeling proceeds from its annual employee marketplace to a scholarship program that supports the lender’s agency-hired workers and their children, as part of its 75th anniversary activities.
Participation fees from employee-run businesses at the People’s Fair Marketplace, held at the SMX Convention Center Manila, were donated to the Security Bank Foundation’s Regalo Mo, Kinabukasan Ko (RMKK) Scholarship Program.
Now in its 16th year, RMKK provides educational assistance to agency-hired personnel such as janitors, security guards, messengers and drivers, as well as their children. The program is supporting 87 scholars for academic year 2026-2027.
“When we learned that the booth fees would go directly to the Security Bank Foundation’s programs, we felt even more encouraged to participate. It’s a great opportunity to sell while giving back,” said Kimberly Malka Soner, a relationship manager at the bank’s Corporate Banking Group.
Security Bank said the annual marketplace allows employees to showcase their businesses while raising funds for the scholarship program.
Jan Jethro Puzon, another relationship manager at the Corporate Banking Group, participated to support both the scholarship initiative and his wife’s home baking business.
“Joining the People’s Fair was a chance to support a cause I care about while also cheering on my wife’s baking business,” Puzon said.
The marketplace, along with the foundation’s Adopt a Scholar campaign, helps finance scholarships under RMKK.
“The People’s Fair gave us the chance to showcase our products, connect with the Security Bank community, and at the same time support initiatives that help students achieve their educational goals,” said Jose Gil Puey IV, an officer at the bank’s Information Technology Group.
