Lunch with the boss: Fabian Dee sits down with Metrobank frontliners

Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. president Fabian Dee is making sure ideas from the frontlines have a seat at the table.

Through “Bites and Insights with the President,” Dee sits down over a meal with small groups of tellers and branch officers, creating a relaxed setting where employees can share experiences, exchange ideas and give feedback directly to the bank’s top leadership.

“Open communication helps build a workplace where every employee feels heard and valued,” Metrobank, chaired by bilyonaryo Arthur Ty, said in a social media post.

In June, Dee met with select tellers and branch operations officers alongside Branch Banking Sector head Nelson See and Human Resources Management Group head Karen Salve Angeles.

The conversations allow employees who work directly with customers to bring frontline perspectives to senior management while giving leaders a closer look at what is happening across Metrobank’s branch network.

The engagement comes as Metrobank reported steady earnings of P24.9 billion in the first half of 2026, compared with P24.85 billion a year earlier. Stronger interest income was partly offset by weaker trading gains and higher provisions for potential credit losses.

Metrobank ended June with consolidated assets of P3.92 trillion.
