Security Bank Corp said on Monday that John Cary Ong has stepped down as head of its Wholesale Banking Segment.
Ong has been part of the bank’s leadership team and contributed to the growth of its wholesale banking franchise, Security Bank president and CEO Victor Lee said in a statement. “John has made meaningful contributions to our wholesale banking business, and we thank him for his leadership and service. We wish him every success in his future endeavors,” Lee added.
Lee will oversee the segment in the interim, working with Hirofumi Umeno, head of Alliance Segment; Yvonne Marcelo, head of Corporate Banking; Jorge Lindley Ong, head of Commercial Banking; and Virgilio Chua, president and CEO of Security Bank Capital.
“Wholesale banking remains a key growth engine for the Bank, underpinned by an experienced leadership team and a strong foundation for the future,” Lee said.
He noted that with the support of alliance partner and shareholder MUFG, the bank is positioned to capture emerging opportunities and create long-term value.
Security Bank, founded in 1951, reported total assets of PHP1.2 trillion as of March 31, 2026. It operates 390 branches and 666 ATMs, Cash Recycler Machines and Cash Acceptance Machines nationwide.
