The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has launched a new loan facility of up to ₱300,000 for bicycles and electric mobility devices, as it seeks to help members reduce daily transportation costs.
The Ginhawa Bike and E-Mobility Loan (GBEL), launched on May 4, covers bicycles, e-bikes, e-scooters, cargo e-bikes and other electric-powered transport units.
The program allows qualified members to borrow up to 100% of the unit cost, subject to a ₱300,000 ceiling. The loan is payable over 36 months, with a 5% annual interest rate and no service fee upon approval.
It follows the agency’s Ginhawa Solar Energy Loan, which finances solar panel installations for members to help reduce electricity expenses.
“This program will give our members a practical option to manage their daily transportation expenses,” GSIS president and general manager Wick Veloso said.
Applications will be processed online through the GSIS Touch mobile application, the agency said.
The facility also covers bicycles and electric mobility devices, including e-mopeds and folding e-bikes.
