US trips up for grabs: GoTyme launches FIFA World Cup debit card promo with Visa

Digital bank GoTyme has launched a FIFA World Cup 2026-themed debit card promotion with Visa, betting that football fever and rewards-driven spending will help deepen customer engagement and drive card usage.

The campaign, unveiled on Wednesday, offers Filipino cardholders the chance to win trips to matches in Los Angeles and New York, including business-class flights to the final.

Customers earn raffle entries for every 1,000 pesos spent, with overseas transactions tripling the entries.

“This partnership marks an important step forward for GoTyme Bank,” CEO Nathaniel Clarke said. “Working alongside Visa in connection with the FIFA World Cup 2026 reflects the ambition we have for our customers and for the country.”

Winners will be drawn from Classic and Pitch Black card tiers, while holders of the rare Trophy Gold card – estimated at one in 20,000 nationwide – automatically qualify for the grand draw without a minimum spend.

Visa Philippines country manager Jeffrey Navarro said the tie-up was part of the company’s push to connect payments with global experiences.

“Visa and FIFA have a long, shared history of promoting football culture and celebrating football talent through the power of payments,” he said.

The promotion, featuring limited-edition designs by Filipino artist Ross Du, runs until May 7, with the Trophy Gold draw extended to June 10. Cards will be available at GoTyme kiosks nationwide starting March 23.

GoTyme’s strategy reflects a wider trend among banks turning to lifestyle rewards and global events to encourage spending, moving beyond traditional onboarding incentives.
