EastWest Bank teams up with UA&P to launch weekly economic newsletter for clients

EastWest Banking Corp. has partnered with the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) to roll out Economic Watch, a weekly newsletter designed to give clients timely analysis of macroeconomic shifts, financial trends and geopolitical risks.

The collaboration combines UA&P’s academic research with EastWest’s market expertise, aiming to simplify complex economic data into actionable insights for investors and business leaders.

“In an era of rapid change, securing a clear perspective on the economic landscape is essential. Our goal is simple: make economic insights clearer, more accessible, and more useful for clients, so they can navigate a constantly evolving environment with clarity and confidence,” EastWest CEO Jerry G. Ngo said.

UA&P president John Philip R. Yeung said the partnership extends the university’s role as an economic think tank. “By translating complex macroeconomic data into practical strategy, we ensure that people do not just observe the market but have the tools to thrive within it,” he said.

The newsletter, distributed weekly to EastWest’s high-net-worth and institutional clients, underscores the bank’s push into thought leadership and financial inclusion.

“This initiative reinforces EastWest’s commitment to financial inclusion and meaningful thought leadership—ensuring clients have access to timely, relevant insights that empower informed financial choices,” Ngo said.
