BDO Foundation helps micro-entrepreneurs plan, grow businesses in Quezon City

BDO Foundation partnered with the Quezon City Small Business Cooperatives Development and Promotions Office (QC-SBCDPO) to provide financial literacy and entrepreneurship training for more than 200 nano-entrepreneurs.

The session, “Ayusin ang Pera, Palaguin ang Negosyo,” was led by financial educator Chinkee Tan, who shared practical strategies for managing and growing small businesses. Participants included sari-sari store owners, market vendors, and other self-employed individuals with limited capital.

BDO Foundation president Mario A. Deriquito said the initiative reflects the foundation’s commitment to helping small business owners make informed financial decisions.

“Sa BDO Foundation, naniniwala kami na kapag may tamang kaalaman sa pera at negosyo, mas nagiging handa ang isang negosyante na magdesisyon nang maayos at magplano para sa kinabukasan,” he said.

The training also highlighted Quezon City’s Nano-Enterprise Registration Program, which allows small business owners to register their enterprises formally and avail of tax and registration fee exemptions.

Mona Celine Marie V. Yap, City Government Department Head III of QC-SBCDPO, said BDO Foundation’s partnership allows entrepreneurs to access free capacity-building programs that strengthen financial discipline and business management skills.
