Dreams within reach: BDO, SM spread holiday cheer to Filipino families abroad

By the staff

BDO Unibank Inc. and SM Supermalls are hosting their annual “Pamaskong Handog” event, reaffirming their commitment to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families this holiday season.

The event, scheduled for Dec. 6 at SM City Sto. Tomas and Dec. 13 at SM City Laoag, marks more than a decade of outreach aimed at strengthening the bonds between OFWs and their loved ones back home.

Originally launched as a gesture of gratitude to Filipinos working in Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Italy, and the Middle East, the celebration has grown into a nationwide tradition.

While BDO continues to facilitate remittances and financial services to ensure OFWs can send support securely, the holiday event emphasizes the emotional ties that bind families across borders.

Through its range of financial products — including BDO Kabayan Savings, Pay, and Loans—the bank aims to empower Filipino families to realize their aspirations, from homeownership to education and business ventures.

“Ang pangarap, mas kaya kapag may kasama,” BDO said in a statement. “Abot ang pangarap kasama ang BDO at SM.”
