After months under regulatory scrutiny, Philippine International Life Insurance Company Inc. is back in business.
The Insurance Commission announced it has officially lifted the cease-and-desist order against the insurer and released it from conservatorship effective June 30, 2025.
In a public notice, Insurance Commissioner Reynaldo A. Regalado confirmed the decision but did not go into detail about what specific steps the company took to address the issues raised by the regulator.
The insurer was placed under conservatorship last March 14, and just days later, on March 18, received a cease-and-desist order for failing to comply with the requirements of the amended Insurance Code.
The lifting of the order marks a key step toward the company’s recovery—one that policyholders, employees, and industry watchers will be keeping a close eye on.
