Chinabank wins Titanium Award for ESG excellence at The Asset ESG Corporate Awards

Chinabank has been awarded the Titanium Award for its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices at The Asset ESG Corporate Awards 2024 in Singapore.

The recognition highlights the bank’s role in sustainable finance and its support for the Philippines’ transition to a low-carbon economy.

Chinabank Chief Sustainability Officer William Wayne T. Quesang accepted the award, which acknowledges the bank’s efforts in managing environmental and social risks while supporting clients in their sustainability and transition goals.

The bank has been actively involved in financing renewable energy projects, green buildings, and initiatives aimed at resource efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The award also reflects Chinabank’s adherence to global governance standards, promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity in its operations. “We are honored and grateful to receive The Asset ESG Corporate Award,” Chinabank president and CEO Romeo D. Uyan Jr. said. “This serves as an inspiration to the bank to continue to promote responsible business practices, endorse projects that are environmentally sustainable, and support initiatives that continue to strengthen our organizational resiliency

Chinabank was one of five Philippine companies recognized at the event, including BDO and SM Investments from the SM Group.

The Asset ESG Corporate Awards is Asia’s longest-running ESG awards program, evaluating companies on financial performance, governance quality, social and environmental responsibility, and investor relations.
