Land Bank of the Philippines is ramping up its digital offerings with a new mobile app feature that allows users to open accounts directly from their smartphones.
The upgrade to the LANDBANK Mobile Banking App (MBA) aims to simplify account opening and cater to a growing appetite for mobile banking services.
Customers can now open three types of accounts through the app: the LANDBANK PISO Plus basic deposit account, a regular LANDBANK Visa debit account, and the new GoBayani savings account designed for overseas Filipinos.
“We are dedicated to continuing to expand our digital offerings to bring more Filipinos into the financial mainstream. Opening a LANDBANK account has never been easier, and we hope more customers can experience the benefits of our convenient and secure banking services,” said LANDBANK president and CEO Lynette V. Ortiz.
To open an account, users will need the latest version of the LANDBANK MBA app, a secure internet connection, and a valid government-issued ID.
The bank reported a 96% jump in app usage during the first quarter, with transactions tripling compared to the same period last year. This growth was driven by a significant rise in fund transfers and bill payments.
